Ali-Craft Workshop

Good evening

Wanted to share this box that I worked on at a great day out with the very inspiring Ali and Iain from Ali-Craft and Rob the MDF man and his lovely lady also called Ali.

My friend Sandra and I arrived at the MDF workshop just before 10 am and spent the day painting and inking, stamping and embossing and generally having a really good messy time.

The object of the workshop was a mdf box with a front drawer which had been painted with white acrylic paint.  Our aim was to alter the box and decorate it to our own style.  There were boxes of buttons and trinkets, flowers, lace and pearls of which we could help our selves to and alter with paint as desired.

We were also given a couple of chipboard tags to decorate and add to the box if we wanted to.

I stamped my box all over with a wood grain stamp after using distress stain all over to give it some colour.

I chose to decorate one of the tags with a Julie Nutting Prima Doll stamp. Ali had the full collection of the stamps but I chose this one and then stamped her again onto this lovely paper so that I could cut the dress out to dress her with.

The day progressed with fun and laughter chatting to the other ladies and we were provided with lots of tea/coffee and a superb buffet lunch.

All in all a super day and so nice to come home with this lovely box.

Another Prima Doll Tag - a Julie Nutting design stamp.

Tag on a box

Good evening again.

Zooming in on a chipboard tag which is part of the decoration of a box (will publish the box later).

The chipboard tag was painted with white acrylic and then stamped and embossed to create the background.

The background was inked with ripe persimmon and peacock feathers distress inks and edged with vintage photo.

The Julie Nutting prima doll was stamped onto white card and then again onto colourful paper to dress the doll with.

Her skin, hair and shoes were coloured in with promarkers.

A couple of brass coloured trinkets adorn the tag and it is edged with pearl trim which has been coloured with metalic paint.

Prima Doll birthday card

Good evening

I would like to share with you, a card I made for a friend.  Now I am not a card maker and do struggle a little with designing a card, probably because I really don't enjoy card making.  However, I do like the Prima Doll stamps and thought I would make this card using this elegant stamp.

Using an 8 x 8 inch card blank I covered the front in some black tattered lace effect paper from my stash.  I then layered a panel of gold mirror card down the centre and framed this with pearl trim.

I stamped the doll image onto script paper and then again onto animal print effect paper.  Cutting out the dress I then 'dressed' the doll.  (I had to cut off the bottom frill from the dress otherwise it wouldn't fit onto the card......tis a large stamp!!!)

I coloured her hair with promarkers and gave her a head band cut from the same paper as her dress.

Finished off with some cream roses and I think she is rather elegant!
